A public hearing has been organized to facilitate the initial public offering (IPO) application process for expatriate or NRB investors. The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) have jointly organized the public hearing on Monday (March 15) at 3 pm on the digital platform.
BSEC Executive Director and Spokesperson Mohammad Rezaul Karim has confirmed the holding of a public hearing on expatriates.
According to the information, expatriate Bangladeshis, custodian representatives, depository participants, trackholders, merchant bankers and representatives of stock exchanges have been requested to participate in the public hearing. At the hearing, Custodian Bank and brokers who have Nita accounts will be able to apply for an IPO with the money of expatriate investors.
According to BSEC sources, the public hearing has been organized mainly for expatriate Bangladeshis. Since the event has been organized on a digital platform, the Commission thinks that the participation of expatriate Bangladeshis should be more. At the same time, the representatives of the custodian bank have been urged to attend the public hearing as an involving party to open Nita accounts for expatriate investors. Registration is required by Sunday (March 14) to participate in the public hearing. A notification has been published on the DSE website in this regard.
