Tk 438 crore project to bring fallow land under cultivation
In order to tackle the food crisis in the Corona situation, a project worth Tk 438 crore has been taken up recently to bring every inch of land under cultivation as per the instructions of the Prime Minister, said the Agriculture Minister. He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of the annual general meeting of the Krishibid Samiti of the Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC) at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka on Saturday (March 13).
He called upon the BADC officials to play a stronger role in the production and distribution of seeds of new varieties of crops. Our researchers and scientists have already invented many advanced varieties and technologies of crops. Seeds of these varieties need to be produced quickly and distributed at the farmer level. We have become self-sufficient in food; Now I am working to ensure safe and nutritious food. To achieve that, agriculturists have to play a tougher and stronger role.
