Prime Minister of Ivory Coast died of cancer
Ivory Coast’s Prime Minister Hamed Bakayeko has died of cancer. He breathed his last in a German hospital on Wednesday, a day after his birthday. He had been battling cancer for a long time. He was 56 years old at the time of his death.
Bakayeko was taken to France for treatment last February. Later, when his health deteriorated, he was transferred to Germany. He was being treated at a hospital there.
Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara has expressed deep grief over the death of Prime Minister Hamid Bakayeko. In a condolence message, he said Prime Minister Hamed Bakayeko was a great politician. He was able to set an example of exemplary personality and honesty to the younger generation.
In July 2020, Hamid Bakayeko was appointed Prime Minister of the country. He was also the Minister of Defense. Hamid Bakayeko was a media personality. Suddenly he got involved in politics.
