BGMEA Electoral Board Chairman resigned
Readymade Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) Electoral Board Chairman Dr. Syed Farhat Anwar has resigned citing personal reasons.
He submitted his resignation letter to the organisation’s president Rubana Haque on Wednesday (March 10th).
Dr. Syed Farhat Anwar resigned at a time when BGMEA elections were approaching. The BGMEA elections are scheduled to be held on April 4 after just three weeks.
Dr. Rubana Haque has confirmed her resignation to the media.
In the biennial election of BGMEA to be held on April 4, 70 candidates from the joint council and forum have been shortlisted for 35 director posts. Among the elected directors, there will be one president and seven vice-presidents.
Voting will be held on the same day at the Radisson Hotel in the capital and at the BGMEA regional office in Chittagong from 10 am to 5 pm.
