BSEC sitting with top officials of Merchant Bank tomorrow

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), the regulator of the capital market, has summoned the managing director or chief executive officer (CEO) and portfolio manager of each merchant bank.

The officials have been asked to attend the seminar on ‘Role of Issue Managers in IPO Applications’ at the BSEC office at 3 pm on Monday.

Although top officials of Merchant Bank have been invited to participate in a seminar on the role of issue managers in IPO applications, the overall issues of the capital market will be discussed there, a responsible official of BSEC said.

According to the source, various directions will be given to enhance efficiency in financial statement verification and due diligence activities. In addition, various questions of merchant banks will be answered by BSEC. Besides, directions may be given on how to increase the depth of the capital market.
