A farmer and labor leader, Altaf Hussain, has demanded to modernize and diversify the state-owned sugar mills without closing them down. The government is not keeping its word. We are being deprived. We will continue to fight for our rights.
He said this while addressing a gathering of workers and farmers at the central Shaheed Minar in the capital on Saturday morning.
Speakers at the rally said, “Sugar mills that have already been shut down need to be reopened. Those who say that these have been closed for losses are not telling the truth. There are no jobs in the country now. The government said it would provide jobs from house to house. But today the government has given unemployment in every house. It is unfair on the workers. ”
