Former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank SK Sur Chowdhury and the current executive director. The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has sought information on Shah Alam's bank transactions. The NBR's Central Intelligence Cell has sent a letter to the chief executives of all banks and financial institutions in the country. The letter asked them to provide information on all types of transactions made by banks and financial institutions since 2013 within the next seven working days.

SK Sur Chowdhury's wife Suparna Sur Chowdhury and Md. Shah Alam's two wives Shaheen Akhter Shelley and Nasreen Begum and their children have also been asked to provide information on bank transactions.
