DSE has to submit a specific plan within 10 days

The country’s capital market is turning around after a long recession. Old investors are returning to the market with the activities of the new commission. As a result, the index is increasing, transactions are increasing. Capital market investors on the sidelines are active. However, the order management system (OMS) software for completing transactions on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main capital market, has stood in the way of this progress. The regulatory body Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has asked for a definite plan to resolve the issue by January this year. The commission gave these instructions at a meeting held at the BSEC office on Tuesday.

The meeting held at BSEC was chaired by Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Commissioner Prof. Shamsuddin Ahmed. Attended the meeting, Executive Director Md. Saifur Rahman, Ashraful Islam, DSE Director Prof. AKM Masood, Shakil Rizvi, Acting Managing Director Abdul Matin Patwari, Chief Information Technology Officer Ziaul Karim and other senior officials of both the organizations.

According to meeting sources, the BSEC has asked the DSE to submit a definite plan to solve the IT problem by January 31. The plan is to specify who will do what and in what days. On the other hand, the commission has been asked to inform the progress of the work on the last working day of every month.
