Crab’s new president Mizan Malik secretary Alauddin Arif
Mizan Malik, special correspondent of Daily Jugantar, has been elected president of Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB). Alauddin Arif, senior reporter of Daily Desh Rupantar, has won the post of general secretary.
Parvez Khan, chairman of the election steering committee and chief election commissioner, announced the results after counting the votes on Saturday (January 9th) night.
Mizan Malik was elected president with 159 votes. His nearest rival Mirza Mehedi Tamal of Bangladesh Pratidin got 104 votes. Alauddin Arif was elected general secretary with 150 votes. His nearest rival Asaduzzaman Biku got 109 votes.
Nitya Gopal Tutu was elected vice-president with 137 votes. His closest rival P. Jahangir Alam got 120 votes. Hasan-uz-Zaman was elected as the joint secretary with 145 votes.
Out of 281 voters, 270 cast their votes in the election. In the meantime, the votes of 7 people were canceled. Rudra Mizan got maximum 177 votes in the election. He has been elected Publicity and Publication Secretary.
