Central Bank asked information of 46 insurance companies
Bangladesh Bank has asked information of 46 non-life insurance companies. Bangladesh Bank Deputy General Manager. Mo; Ismail Hossain’s signature letter has been sent to the managing directors of all the banks. It has been asked to provide all the information in a prescribed form by January 7.The companies are: Agrani Insurance Company Limited, Asia Insurance Limited, Asia Pacific General Insurance Company Limited, Bangladesh Co-operative Insurance Limited, Bangladesh General Insurance Company Limited, Bangladesh National Insurance, Bangladesh National Insurance,Central Insurance Company Limited, City General Insurance Company Limited, Continental Insurance Limited, Crystal Insurance Company Limited, Desh General Insurance Company Limited,Dhaka Insurance Limited, Eastern Insurance Company Limited, Eastland Insurance Company Limited, Express Insurance Limited, Federal Insurance Company Limited, Global Insurance Limited, Islami Insurance Bangladesh Limited, Janata Insurance Company Limited, Karnafuli Insurance Company Limited, Meghna Insurance Company Limited, Mercantile Insurance Company Limited, Nittal Insurance Company Limited, Paramount Insurance Company Limited, People’s Insurance Company Limited, Phoenix Insurance Company Limited, Pioneer Insurance Company Limited, Pragati Insurance Limited, Prime Insurance Company Limited,Purabi General Insurance Company Limited, Reliance Insurance Limited, Republic Insurance Company Limited, Rupali Insurance Company Limited, General Insurance Corporation, Sena Kalyan Insurance Company Limited, Sikder Insurance Limited,Sonar Bangla Insurance Limited, South Asia Insurance Company Limited, Standard Insurance Limited, Takaful Islami Insurance Limited, Union Insurance Company Limited, United Insurance Company Limited.
At present, there are 79 companies doing business in Bangladesh. Of these, 2 are government and 77 are private. Of these, 46 are non-life and 33 are life insurance companies.
