Saif Powertech getting the job of Chittagong port for seven years

Capital market listed Saif Powertech is getting work on the empty container removal operation project of Chittagong Port General Cargo Jetty (GCB) for the next seven years. The lowest bidder was Saif Powertech Limited, the terminal operator operating CCT and NCT. Saif Powertech was declared the lowest bidder at a meeting of the tender evaluation committee on Tuesday in front of representatives of the two companies that submitted tenders.

Between the two companies, Everest Port Services Limited has offered a price of Tk 198 crore 10 lakh 21 thousand 200 taka. The other company Saif Powertech’s proposed price was 115 crore 91 lakh 14 thousand 960 taka. This is less than Tk 82.19 crore from the first institution.

According to the port authorities, the eligible company will remove the empty containers from the GCB yard for the next seven years.

Chittagong Port Authority Secretary Omar Farooq said a meeting of the tender evaluation committee was held on Tuesday. Representatives of the tendering companies were also present. If all the ancillary matters are right, the recommendation of the tender evaluation committee will go to the cabinet committee on procurement of the government and if approved there, the lowest bidder will get the job for the next seven years.
