Md Nurul Islam Babul the Chairman of  Jamuna Group  has died from coronavirus. He was 74.

He also the owner of the Daily Jugantor and Jamuna Television, breathed his last at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka on Monday afternoon.

He left behind his wife and three sons and many well-wishers to mourn his death.

Earlier on June 14, Babul tested positive for coronavirus and was admitted to the hospital.

His wife Salma Islam is a member of the national parliament. She was also a former State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Ministry.

Jamuna Group is one of the largest Bangladeshi industrial conglomerates. The industries under the conglomerate include textiles, chemicals, leather, motor cycles, consumer products, media, and advertisement.
