Bangladesh has lost another doctor to Covid-19, the deadly disease caused by a new strain of the coronavirus.
Identified as Dr Maj (retd) Abul Mokarim Md Mohsin Uddin, the doctor passed away while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka around 11:20pm on Tuesday.
With him, three doctors have so far died, alongside a number of other health workers, from the disease that killed total 250 people in Bangladesh until Tuesday afternoon.
Dr Mohsin was chief consultant of the radiology department at Ibn Sina Diagnostic and Imaging Centre, said the centre’s Manager (admin) Shafiqul Islam on Wednesday morning.
He was admitted to CMH a week ago after testing Covid-19 positive, said Shafiqul.
