Runner announces full salary, no job cut
The chairman of the Runner Group, Hafizur Rahman Khan, has announced that the group’s employees will get full salaries for April and will not lose their jobs. He also said that the group has no plan to cut jobs.
In an open letter to employees on April 30, Khan said the group stopped production, supply and sales activities on March 25 – in line with the nationwide shutdown to curb the novel coronavirus infection.
As Runner’s businesses are mainly concentrated in transportation related sectors, its companies have suffered more than others.
April was a month of almost no sale and collection for the group.
In spite of that, Runner has announced that employees will get full salaries for April as the company and its chairman intend to ensure smooth living for all its executives, staff and workers, said Hafizur Rahman Khan.
He thanked employees for following health safety guidelines that helped pass the weeks without any case of coronavirus infection among the Runner family.
A great teamwork after the pandemic would help Runner recover business losses during shutdown, hoped the entrepreneur.
Runner will continue supporting its employees, said Khan.
Runner Automobiles Ltd, which is listed at both the stock exchanges of the country, is the flagship company of Runner Group that pioneered motorcycle manufacturing locally a decade ago.
Runner Motors Ltd, another company of the group, sells commercial vehicles, while the group has other ventures like lubricants, real estate and electronics.
