7 more die, 414 new infected
Seven more people have died from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 127 in the country. Besides, 414 more people were infected by the lethal virus in the country during the time which took the total number of positive cases to 4,186.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque came up with the disclosure joining the daily health bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) through online on Thursday.
A total of 414 fresh cases were detected after testing 3,416 samples across the country over the last 24 hours, he said, adding that as many as 36,206 samples have so far tested.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 210 countries and territories around the world and 2 international conveyances. As of Thursday afternoon, a total of 2,646,428 people have been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 184,353 while 723,713 patients have recovered.
More than a third of the world’s population is now under lockdown as an increasing number of countries implement sweeping measures to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
