Nine more coronavirus patients have died in the last 24 hours, raising the death toll from the pandemic to 110 in the country. Besides, the total number of the confirmed cases in the country has climbed to 3,382 as 434 more people tested positive for the lethal virus during the time.
Additional Director General (administration) of DGHS Prof Nasima Sultana came up with the disclosure joining the daily health bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) through online on Tuesday.
A total of 434 fresh cases were detected after testing 2,974 samples across the country over the last 24 hours, she said, adding that as many as 29,694 samples have so far tested.
Meanwhile, two new people have recovered from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of recoveries in the country to 87.
About the new deceased, Prof Nasima said that five of them are male and four female.
The coronavirus, that first reported in China late last year, is now affecting 210 countries and territories around the world and 2 international conveyances. As of Tuesday afternoon, a total of 2,490,516 people have been diagnosed with the virus worldwide, as the death toll rises to 170,590 while 653,577 patients have recovered.
More than a third of the world's population is now under lockdown as an increasing number of countries implement sweeping measures to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
