Bangladesh Bank has instructed to provide necessary banking assistance to continue production, transportation, and supply chain of commodities.
Bangladesh Bank issued a directive on the issue on Sunday.
The directive has been sent to all authorized dealer bank headquarters and principal offices engaged in foreign exchange transactions.
The directive states that in the context of the outbreak of Corona, it will have to cooperate to continue the production, transportation, and supply chain of daily necessities, including essential products. For this, it has been asked to exempt the goods against the documents obtained directly from the importer and not to delay payment of the import duty.
For this purpose, the Bangladesh Bank has directed the banks to take measures against the documents obtained by the importer directly in accordance with the guidelines mentioned in Section 26 of Chapter 7 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions (GFET), 2018.
