M. Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar, FCA, FCMA has joined as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the main bourse Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited on January 09, 2020. Before joining DSE, S.R. Mazumdar was working as a director and CEO of Corporate Support Limited, a management and financial consultancy firm. Md. Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar is the immediate past Managing Director and CEO of Chittagong Stock Exchange Ltd. As a seasoned professional, he has been involved in private sector in different capacities for last twenty two years.
He has a wide range of experiencesin capital market, financial management, export and production management, HR management,management consultancy etc. He served in business and industrial field in different positions such as Company Secretary, Controller of Finance, Finance Director, Executive Director, CEO, Managing Director with utmost sincerity, honesty and reputation.
S.R. Mazumdar is a renowned Chartered Accountant and a Cost and Management Accountant. He is a Fellow Member of both apex accounting bodies of Bangladesh ICAB and ICMAB. He is a B.Com.(Hon’s), M.Com (Accounting) from the University of Chittagong. During his Chartered Accountancy course, Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar worked with KPMG Rahman RahmanHuq, one of the leading audit and consultancy firms of Bangladesh.
Apart from business and industrial organizations, he hasalso track record of playing leadership rolein professional and trade bodies.
He is a former Vice President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). He served ICAB as a Council Member during the tenure 2016-18. He is a former Chairman of Chittagong Chapter of ICAB and ICMAB. He is a former director of Bangladesh Frozen Foods Exporters Association (BFFEA). Hecontributed in professional development of the country as a keynote presenter in different seminars, workshops and training programs organized by ICAB, ICMAB, SAFA, BSEC and Stock Exchanges. He participated in different international conferences as a speaker organized by World Economic Forum, World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) and South Asian Federation of Exchanges (SAFE).
