UGC backtracks from uniform entry test decision
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has backtracked from its decision to introduce a uniform admission test in all public universities from the academic year 2020-21.
Rather it has decided to arrange cluster entry test in agriculture, science and technology, engineering, and general universities.
But three separate exams would be held in science, business studies, and arts faculties of general universities.
Thirty four public universities will join the system, said UGC chairman Kazi Shahidullah after a meeting with all public universities’ Vice Chancellors (VCs) on Wednesday afternoon.
Earlier on February 11, UGC held meeting with Vice Chancellors of all public universities and took decision of combined admission test.
But Bangladeshi University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka University (DU), Jahangirnagar University (JU), Chattogram University (CU), and Rajshahi University (RU) decided not joint the uniform admission system.
