World cricket star Shakib Al Hasan thinks Bangladesh is a good place to invest. Investing in Bangladesh will benefit Bangladesh as well as investors in Dubai, said the goodwill ambassador for the Bangladesh capital market investment education program.
He made the call at a seminar on ‘Scope of Private Equity and Venture Capital Investment in Bangladesh’ on the third day of a four-day road show organized by BSEC in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Thursday (February 11th). Brian Stairwalt, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai Financial Services Authority, was the chief guest at the event. The keynote address was delivered by Shamim Ahsan, President, VCPEAB and conducted by SM Rashidul Hasan, CEO, UCB Capital.
Shakib said Bangladesh’s economy has improved a lot in the last few years and this trend will continue in the future. Besides, the country’s capital market is doing well under the leadership of Professor Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam. At the same time, he hopes to move forward in the future. Due to these reasons, Bangladesh has now become a good place to invest. So he called on Dubai residents to invest in Bangladesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Shibli Rubaiyat-ul-Islam, Chairman, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC), said Bangladesh has many positive aspects including adequate foreign exchange reserves, a significant youth class, political stability and strong financial position. Through all this, Bangladesh is moving forward.
